TOMB RAIDERS: CURRENT ISSUE OF SMITHSONIAN
I have a 10 page photo spread in the current issue of the Smithsonian (in homes this week and on shelves next week). AMAZING assignment in which I had to trick an antiquities smuggler into letting me photograph him with his illegal goods. Posed as an art buyer’s son, and worked him up to it by photographing almost everything in his shop and making price lists (as though I were creating a buying list) before asking to see older goods.
